Every sport has different nutrition requirements.  Nutritional Assessment Services dietitians teach sports nutrition at Queen`s University, the Royal Military College, high schools and to many local athletes.  Time is spent observing individuals and teams and studying the demands for both training and competition  Nutritional Assessment Services puts emphasis on sports recovery after all activity to assure athletes are continuously improving their performance.
 
Assessments Include:
Body Composition Assessment for hydration, muscle mass and fat mass.  A test can show if athletes are anabolic or catabolic.  Periodic testing shows if athletes are meeting their goals.
Weight Class athletes must maintain muscle and reduce body fat to perform at their optimal level.
Food intake Analysis is the best way to determine calorie needs in addition to estimates from computer models for nutrition and activity.
Activity Analysis including duration, intensity and timing.
Food interaction
When reducing body fat for sport most people who only change their diet and not their activity will have a drop in their metabolism of up to 200 kcal.per day.
NAS offers customized packages to sports clubs or teams that includes individual player assessment and education and/or team assessment and education sessions designed to meet budget needs.
Team Assessments
° An initial team screening can help identify players needing more   nutritional support. Periodic BIA at the start of the season, before   Christmas and three weeks before playoffs can assure all players are  growing and gaining physical strength throughout the season.  A   few individual players may need a more thorough review and meal  plan to help them reach their goals.

Individual Nutrition Assessment
: Computerized body composition analysis bioelectrical impedance   (BIA) with clinical 'Fluid and Nutrition` software estimates   hydration, muscle mass, fat free mass, fat mass, phase angle (health  score) and basal metabolic rate.  
: Computerized dietary intake nutritional analysis with new Custom  Nutrient Recommendations (new North American standards)

Hands on Marketplace Investigation $15.00 per person for 8 people
Nutrition Periods (15 minutes per period) $65.00 per team per session
Team Nutrition Program Development $100.00 per hour  
 
On site visits to your facility for assessments or at the Nutrition Assessment Clinic in the Downtown Physiotherapy Clinic, 181 Wellington St., Suite 304, Kingston. Mastercard or VISA  payment accepted.  Check with your benefits officer for insurance coverage for the services of a registered dietitian as a family employee benefit.  A tax receipt is provided for all services.
